Day 53: A House Divided

Accra - Today Tim and I got an invitation from Laura and Phil Barnes to attend Elim International Church.  Laura and Phil are IMB missionaries from Kumasi. The church was truly international.  Many Ghanaians along with people from Germany, China, and the United States attended there. The message from pastor Nana (Acts 3:1-9) was to remember that when your fellow human is wrestling with his sin, you need to pray with them, give them a helping hand, and lead them to faith in Jesus.  The church was located in a smallish convention center near Osu that was somewhat airconditioned and led by a rotating cadre of pastors.

After church we went to the Accra Mall on Spintex Road.  We saw one couple we went to church with also made this their after church destination.  We walked around a bit, and then ate lunch at Rhapsody restaurant. Tim had a hankering for American style food and service so we chose this one.  Modern decor, service was too eager and present, smoke needs to be elimiated.  Food was decent and reasonably priced with good size portions.

Tonight is the championship game of the World Cup in Brazil.  I'm rooting for Argentina and Tim is rooting for Germany.  A house divided.

Tim had sirloin and mashed potatoes.

2 portions of roasted veggies and potato wedges and ketchup.

Tim and I at Rhapsody Restaurant in Accra Mall.
