Day 25: Fathers Day

Tamale: Fathers Day.  Another sad day of travel for us and especially for our master navigator, Tim.  It's Fathers Day and we got on the Metro Mass Transit bus at 3:30 AM from Mole National Park to ride with what seemed like 200 other people and their bundles, bags, and boxes to Tamale.  Thankfully no goats.  We arrived about 7:30 AM and found we would not make the once daily 8:15 am flight to Accra, so we had to chill in a seedy hotel for 8 hours while we waited for the O&A tours bus departure at 5:00 pm.  We rode on the tourbus for 12 hours on paved, unpaved, and moon crater like roads while we drove at furious speeds and passed slow vehicles in the two lane road, all night.  Goats were stored below with the green peppers and other market items.  How do they keep the goats from eating the food?  One baby goat got loose at the O&A station in Kumasi, but another kindly passenger returned it to the baggage wrangler.
Waiting in a dark, dank Tamale hotel room for the bus to Accra
Tim and I without sleep for a total of 30hrs
