Day 24: Pumba and Rafiki

Mole National Park:  After a delicious but overpriced dinner, a shower with something resembling a waterpik, and a decent nights worth of air conditioned sleep, the morning looked much better.  The Safari tour was up first, followed by an accidental breakfast with the presidentially appointed Regional Minister (I got an interview! :)), and a canoe tour.  A trip to Larabanga Mosque built in 1421 or sometime in the 1600's (no one knows for sure) satisfied our yen for historical information about the area.  Noteworthy sightings on the safari were a mama and baby elephant, baboons, warthogs, kingfisher birds, antelope, deer, mongoose, and snake.  A swim by the pool followed by another delicious but expensive dinner of TZ (millet dumpling and stew) was accompanied by socialization with the various volunteers from the UK, and 5 members of the faculty from Clemson University.  The faculty was on a reconnaissance mission for study abroad programs.  It was a very fun and productive day.

When I was a young warthog....

Larabanga Mosque

Tim's pepper steak and mashed yams.... Delicious!

My tuo zafi or tzed.  Both the stew and the dumplings seem made with millet. The best soup and dumplings yet!
